On World GO Day, an awareness event will take place in the center of Korčula. Dr. Mitrović, together with members of the League Against Cancer Korčula–Lastovo–Mljet–Pelješac, will host a public information stand. Informational leaflets about World GO Day will be distributed, with a strong focus on the importance of preventive gynecological examinations and the destigmatization of gynecological cancers. To create a warm and engaging atmosphere, visitors will also be welcomed with traditional local pastries (kroštule).
Through this event, the organizers aim to engage the local community, spark meaningful conversations, and contribute to raising awareness of gynecological health as part of the global World GO Day initiative. All activities are organized under the coordination of World GO Day ambassador Dr. Gabrijela Sopta Primorac.
Organization
The medical practice of Dr. Leila Mitrović provides gynecological care for the entire island of Korčula and half of the Pelješac peninsula has been continuously active in raising awareness about gynecological malignancies. Through the social media initiative dr.empowershe, the practice works to empower women, promote education, and encourage preventive health measures. As a natural continuation of these efforts, the team is eager to join the World GO Day initiative in Croatia.
