On September 20th Policlinico Gemelli Gynaecologic Oncology Department together with Loto OdV will run a whole day dedicated to cancer prevention and awareness among caregivers, patients, citizens and clinicians.
An information corner on the 4th floor of Policlinico Gemelli will be represented by female doctors from the Gynaecologic Oncology Department. Loto volunteers and coordinators will cooperate with them in handing out leaflets and all informational materials regarding oncological prevention and early diagnosis.
Organization
Loto is a non-profit association based on the work of volunteers, who are fighting against ovarian cancer. One of Loto ODV’s goals is to disseminate information, making women aware of diseases like ovarian cancer. It was created in 2013 by a group of patients and friends who wanted to initiate a "pioneering" pathway to deal with a disease whose causes are unknown and for which effective measures for early diagnosis are not yet available. Dedicated events, workshops and conferences, the website, social media and the newsletters are the main tools through which information, support and awareness-raising activities are carried out.
