Ovarian cancer is one of the most difficult diseases to treat worldwide. In Germany, around 7400 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. Fortunately, patients' chances of survival have improved considerably in recent years. Thanks to advances in surgical and medical treatment, the number of long-term survivors is steadily increasing. However, this positive development is still not sufficiently recognized. This is why the German Ovarian Cancer Foundation, on the initiative of Prof. Dr. Jalid Sehouli, has designed the “I'm alive!” photo tour.
For the photos, the protagonists were asked to show what motivated them personally during their therapy.
