The Georgia Patients Union(GPU) was established in 2014 as an organization defending the rights of patients. It mainly serves tuberculosis and cancer patients. The organization's primary mission is to effect needed changes in the HCS and financing through political, programmatic, and media advocacy. In addition, the organization focused on informing the population, specific and focus groups about various diseases, programs and projects, mobilizing society. During its existence, it has implemented a number of local and international projects, it is a member of the country's coordination mechanism, a partner for the Tuberculosis National Center, NCDC, RCS, WHO, UICC, TB Alliance, ESGO/Engage etc. GPU is mentor of the Engage TEENs Georgia.
