Music Together – Talking About Cancer Through Music
To mark both Smiley’s 20th anniversary and World GO Day, we will hold a special event called “Music Together – Talking About Cancer Through Music” on September 13, 2026, in Tokyo.
The event will be held at Shibuya Takeoff7 and will bring together ovarian cancer survivors, healthcare professionals, supporters, and members of the public.
The programme will include:
- A special movie looking back on Smiley’s 20 years of activities
- A talk session with Dr. Keiichi Fujiwara, Gynecologic Oncologist
- A special “Medical Live & Talk” session featuring a medical oncologist Dr. Noriyuki Katsumata, Japanese television announcer Shinsuke Kasai, who is also a cancer survivor, and Sakura, an ovarian cancer survivor
- Music and conversations about living with cancer, medical information, and how patients and healthcare professionals can connect and support one another
Through music and conversation, we hope to create a warm space where people can think about cancer together, learn from each other, and feel less alone.
For Smiley, this event is not only a celebration of our 20th anniversary, but also an opportunity to raise awareness of gynecologic cancers together with the global World GO Day community.

Organization
Our organization began its activities on September 1, 2006. We aim to provide accurate information to women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. And we want them to be able to receive treatment with confidence. Driven by this desire, we value providing information, consultation support, peer support, and opportunities for connection.
