LITTLE IPHIGENIAS
Little Iphigenias “Women Against Silent Cancers” is a new initiative of “Erifyle” that brings together scientific knowledge, social awareness, and artistic expression to highlight issues related to gynaecological cancers.
The initiative aims to create a platform for information, dialogue, and women’s empowerment, while emphasising the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
Iphigenia was sacrificed in Greek mythology.
Women today are called upon to make difficult medical decisions and undergo procedures that may involve the removal/sacrify of organs such as the ovaries or uterus to safeguard their lives.
This initiative seeks to honour and highlight the strength, resilience, and dignity of these women.
Organization
Erifyle is an itiative for patients with gynaecologica cancers. It was founded in 2024 by a group of women who had been diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer and recognised the significant gap and the lack of awareness that existed in society regarding gynaecological cancers. In their search for support, they discovered that many women did not feel safe speaking out, sharing their experiences, or expressing what they were going through. So, they decided to create a #safeplace for themselves and any other woman, regardless of age, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation, who would like to go along this journey.
