In Idrija, we will come together to crochet purple hearts as part of “1,000 Hearts for Women’s Health.” Each heart will be a symbol of solidarity with women affected by gynaecological cancers and a way to open conversations about women’s health. The activity is part of our Purple September campaign, with this year’s slogan “Take Care of Your Essential Parts” (“Poskrbi za svoje nepogrešljive kose”). It is one of 22 activities across Slovenia raising awareness and helping break the silence and stigma around these cancers.
Organization
Europa Donna Slovenia is a national patient advocacy organization dedicated to raising awareness about breast and gynaecological cancers and supporting women affected by these diseases. As part of the wider Europa Donna network, we provide information and support to patients and their families, raise awareness and advocate for patients’ needs and rights. Through our Gynaecological Cancers Section, we provide dedicated support to women affected by these cancers and work to break the stigma surrounding them. We also work with healthcare professionals and decision-makers to improve prevention, early detection, treatment and quality of life.
