Participants in Idrija will join the purple walk “Steps of Strength and Hope” in support of women affected by gynaecological cancers. Walking together in purple will send a visible message of solidarity, raise awareness and help break the silence surrounding these diseases. The walk is part of World GO Day and Europa Donna Slovenia’s Purple September campaign, with this year’s slogan “Take Care of Your Essential Parts” (“Poskrbi za svoje nepogrešljive kose”). It is one of 22 activities across Slovenia supporting women and bringing gynaecological cancers into the open.
Organization
Europa Donna Slovenia is a national patient organization dedicated to breast and gynaecological cancers and a member of Europa Donna – The European Breast Cancer Coalition. We provide information and support to patients and families, raise awareness and advocate for patients’ needs and rights. We are actively involved in research and European projects, bringing the patient perspective into research, healthcare and policy. Through our Gynaecological Cancers Section, we support women affected by these cancers and work to break the stigma. We collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers and decision-makers to improve prevention, early detection, treatment, care and quality of life.
