On World GO Day, Ljubljana will turn purple in support of women affected by gynaecological cancers. At our awareness stand on Prešeren Square, visitors can learn about prevention, HPV vaccination, possible signs and symptoms, and support for women facing the disease. At 2 pm, we will set off on a purple walk through Ljubljana. The event is also part of Europa Donna Slovenia’s Purple September campaign, with this year’s slogan “Take Care of Your Essential Parts” (“Poskrbi za svoje nepogrešljive kose”), raising awareness and helping break stigma.
Organization
Europa Donna Slovenia is a national patient organization dedicated to breast and gynaecological cancers and a member of Europa Donna – The European Breast Cancer Coalition. We provide information and support to patients and families, raise awareness and advocate for patients’ needs and rights. We are actively involved in research and European projects, bringing the patient perspective into research, healthcare and policy. Through our Gynaecological Cancers Section, we support women affected by these cancers and work to break the stigma. We collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers and decision-makers to improve prevention, early detection, treatment, care and quality of life.
