Stafett for livet / Relay for life
Relay For Life is a cancer fundraising and awareness event organised by the Norwegian Cancer Society. Teams take turns walking or running around a track for a set period of time, symbolising that cancer never takes a break. The event celebrates cancer survivors, remembers those we have lost, and raises funds for cancer research and support. The local chapter in Harstad was represented for the whole 24 hours, giving information about gynaecancers, having peer to peer talks, and enjoying the vibe of over 2200 people participating these 24 hours.
Organization
Gynkreftforeningen is the Norwegian Gynecological Cancer Association, representing people affected by gynecological cancers. We work to improve treatment, care and quality of life for patients and survivors, with a strong focus on patient advocacy and equal access to healthcare. We also raise awareness, support research and ensure that patients’ voices are heard in healthcare and policy development. Harstad is the local chapter for the city of Harstad and the surrounding area
