Organization
In 2006, seeing that no effective ovarian cancer treatments were approved in Japan, Miho Katagi and Mami Ikematsu, with support from survivors and families, founded the country’s first and only support group specifically for ovarian cancer patients. They named it “SMILEY”, to help bring comfort and a smile back to those facing the disease.
