Symptoms Are Not Screening

A month-long United States public education campaign on uterine cancer, the most common gynecologic cancer in the United States, focused on a single message: there is no routine screening test, so bleeding after menopause has to be reported and evaluated promptly.

Organization

The Eva Tucci Foundation is a United States 501(c)(3) public charity working to close the diagnostic gap in gynecologic cancer. We were founded in memory of Eva Tucci, who was diagnosed with Stage IV endometrial cancer on Memorial Day 1996 and died that December, at fifty-three. Four of the five gynecologic cancers have no routine screening test. Detection depends on a woman recognizing something has changed, reporting it, and reaching someone who acts without delay. Our work spans public education, clinician engagement, and programming for the men and families who are often the first to notice something is wrong. Our core message is four words: symptoms are not screening.
